Around 2023 I met James Cui and Nikita Freeboid at Creative Code Berlin, and we got to talking. Along with music producer Yiury Saymory we sketched out an idea to bring together artists working across generative art, live coding, projection mapping, audio synthesis, creative technology, and immersive media.

Each event would combine curated performances, open experimentation, and technical exchange, and (most important) be a platform for artists that had never worked together to collaborate live, unrehearsed, and unfiltered.

Since then it has turned into a cultural hub for Berlin’s audiovisual arts community, partnering with other Berlin art and tech events such as the Node Institute, Manifest.IO, Berlin New Media Week, CTM Vorspiel, and Berlin Science Week. Artists who first presented work through AVJam have gone on to exhibit and perform at internationally recognized festivals, galleries, and venues.
