I built a Big Brain Synthesizer from old candy packaging, arduinos, and spare parts I had lying around the house.

The result is my latest modular synthesizer, the “Brain-Synth”! Thanks to @steadycraftin @dan_does_craft @billmakingstuff and especially @ellingson.tv for the inspiration!

It uses a “Pepper’s Ghost” effect with an iPad to project generative video from Resolume Arena, and the “Matrix” animation is from the @codingwithbrett tutorial on ESP32 animations.

Brain in a jar in a simulation == Even jar-brains can have a special day 😉

I demo’d this at the latest @avjamberlin at MotionLab Berlin, and there’s a link to the ESP32 animation tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG6ALAB-jF8!
